ICAR- CIBA Signs MoU with Private Hatchery Partner for Transfer of Seabass Seed Production Technology

The hatchery technology for Asian Seabass Seed Production developed by ICAR- Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture for the first time in India, has been commercialized to a private aquaculture entrepreneur. The fish attains marketable size in 6-8 months and fetches a market price of Rs.400 to Rs. 500/Kg while the production cost is Rs. 200 to Rs. 225/kg. There is a huge potential for the culture of Asian seabass with great demand from the domestic and international market.
