Shrimp Larvi Plus
An indigenous functional feed for shrimp larvae for use in hatcheries
-
An indigenous larval feed for shrimp has been developed, tested and commercialised.
An array of speciality ingredients is used to formulate a functional feed for shrimp
larvae and the recipes were carefully processed to retain and deliver the sensitive
nutrients to larvae.
-
It is a potential import substitute. Larval feeds are specialty feeds, which is one
of the vital elements for a successful hatchery operation.
-
At present 100% of the larval feeds used in Indian shrimp hatcheries are imported,
and are very expensive.
-
Visualizing the demand for the larval feeds, CIBA has developed feeds for different
larval stages.
-
Micro-bound and micro-particulate feeds of different particle sizes
100 to 400 micron were prepared.
-
Advanced micro-bound and micro-particulate larval feeds for shrimp larvae were
produced with state-of-the-art facilities such as specialised extrusion cooking.
-
Tested and demonstrated in more than 100 hatcheries and commercialised on
a nonexclusive basis. Ready for commercialisation in India and Abroad.
